Staff Picks - U is for Undertow by Sue Grafton. While a part of Grafton’s “alphabet” series featuring private detective Kinsey Millhone, readers can dive into the series at any point, as each title features a new case to solve. Grafton uses multiple view points, moving between past and present, weaving a fascinating story of crime which may or may not have taken place. Grafton has maintained a remarkably high standard of originality throughout the series.
I Remember Nothing and Other Reflections by Nora Ephron. All were saddened by her death, last year. Her masterful wit was enjoyed by film audiences (her most popular screen writing credits include When Harry Met Sally and Julie and Julia) and readers alike. Ephron followed up her bestselling I Feel Bad About My Neck with this 2010 collection of hilarious observations of the peculiar quirks of memory as we age.
