Downtown Rehabilitation & Streetscapes 2017
The second year of the multi-phase Downtown Rehabilitation & Streetscapes project commences in early May of 2017 with work on Phase 1 & 2.
Phase 1- work continues on 101 St to 99th Ave to north of 102 Ave.
Phase 2 - work takes place on 101 Ave from the Golden Age Centre to 100th St.
Work is anticipated to result in pedestrian & vehicular disruptions and potential rerouting. Frequent and timely communication remains an important component of the project. The focus of communication and outreach around the project is to provide timely and accurate project updates to residents and businesses, as well as ensuring residents and visitors recognise businesses remain open throughout construction. The City of Grande Prairie is committed to ensuring the downtown sector remains vibrant and citizens feel positive about the activity in this integral part of their community.
Downtown Rehab Projet Phase 1 & 2 Info Session
Join the City of Grande Prairie for a chance to learn more about the 2017 construction on the Downtown Rehabilitation & Streetscapes Project. An information session will be held 5-8pm on Wednesday March 22nd at Teresa Sargent Hal at the Montrose Cultural Centre. Refreshments to be provided. For more info

June Downtown beautifies with the installation of hanging flower baskets, planters and banners.
June 18 Sizzling Summer Sidewalk Sale - street displays, demonstrations and sales tables will make shopping, browsing, or just wandering a delight. 100 Avenue will be closed from 99 Street to 102 Street.
July 1 Canada Day Parade - Proud to be Canadian. Red & white abound Downtown. Call Muskoseepi park for entry forms.
July 22-24 Street Performers Festival - Professional entertainers make the street a wonderland of awe inspiring activity.
Oct. 29 Halloween Party & Children’s Walking Parade.
Nov. 18 Vegas Night - cut the cards, spin the wheel, roll the dice for discounts. It’s no gamble at all. (Open until 11:00pm)
Dec. 4 Santa Parade - Experience the wonder & joy of Christmas. Call DTA for entry forms.
Dec. 5-23 Elf On The Shelf - Look for Elf in participating stores and enter to win a DT Gift Card for $100 each week and (1) $500 gift card from all entries submitted during the month. Draw will be made December 22.
Dec. 5 - 23 Mary Christmas - Mary will be walking throughout the downtown handing out gift cards from downtown businesses.

Grande Prairie Lunch Rappers club is hosting an open house highlighting what their club is all about and how they can elevate Downtown Association members in better communication and public speaking skills. March 29th from 12:10 - 1pm on the main floor of City Hall. The open house is open to anyone who wants to see what Toastmasters is all about. This is a great opportunity to discover a very affordable and efficient way to enhance your self-development
