DownTown Rehabilitation & Street-scape Project Monthly Update

The Downtown Rehabilitation & Street-scape Upgrades Project has been tendered. Phase 1 (101 St ) and Phase 2 (101 Ave) were Tendered as one project. It is anticipated that the construction work for Phase 1 will commence towards mid July. Successful bidder was Wapiti Gravel Suppliers.

The work is planned to commence on 101 Street south of 99th Avenue, adjacent to the Revolution Place facility and proceed northwards. Deep utility work consisting of storm sewer, sanitary sewer and waterline work will be the first activity with surface work following after the completion of these items. Work on 101 Avenue is planned to take place in 2017.

100 Avenue will be closed, to vehicular traffic, from 99 Street to 101Street. Plan your sidewalk displays, sales items and staff now.

DUMPSTERS - If you have a garbage dumpster, please keep the lid closed. We are having a lot of trouble with crows and magpies in the garbage.

DOWNTOWN IN SUMMER - We have a sidewalk display permit (June 1 - Sept 1, 2016). That means you can have sales tables or whatever outside and don’t have to get a city permit. Just call the DTA (780-538-1909) and advise use and DON’T BLOCK THE SIDEWALK.
