In order to best serve all downtown businesses – and, of course, the Grande Prairie population – the DownTown Association is made up of one Board of Directors and several committees.
Dedicated to unifying, marketing, promoting, lobbying and liaising on behalf of its members, the Grande Prairie Downtown Association is a volunteer leadership group that operates as a Business Revitalization Zone and is governed by a board of directors. If you’re interested in serving on the GPDTA Board of Directors, please contact us at director@gpdowntown.com.

Strategic Directions is concerned primarily with the movement of businesses to, from, and within the city centre, the Strategic Directions Committee focuses on attracting businesses to the heart of the city and encouraging current businesses to maintain their location. A direct partner with the City of Grande Prairie, this committee aims to be responsive to the needs of our businesses and our citizens and creating realistic timelines to address any trends and activities affecting the downtown area. From creating promotions and events to highlighting our main attractions and developing dynamic cooperative marketing practices, the Promotions Committee’s main objective is to encourage engagement in the downtown core.
Enhancing the exposure and image of the city centre to its members and encouraging the involvement of the DownTown Association members in the association are two key components of the Members Affairs Committee. This includes handling its social media, gift cards, and monthly newsletters for downtown businesses.
