Canada Day Parade

July 1

Celebrations kick-off with the Canada Day parade starting from Hillside School at 2 p.m., travelling down 96 Street and 100 Avenue to end at the Northwestern Polytechnic parking lot. Parade entries this year cost $50 for profit organizations and are free for non-profit organizations.

Muskoseepi Park is bustling with activities for residents to enjoy:

  • Free drop-in swimming at the Aquatera Outdoor Pool from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Live entertainment at the Amphitheatre from 3:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Full entertainment line-up to be announced.
  • Free cake while supplies last beginning at 3:30 p.m.
  • Carnival rides and games.
  • Beer gardens from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Kids zone with bouncy castles, face painting and roaming entertainment.
  • Fire dancers from 11 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Food trucks.

Festivities will wrap up with a bang during the fireworks display setting off at 11:30 p.m. from the reservoir at Muskoseepi Park. The City will monitor weather conditions and make adjustments to Canada Day plans as necessary. Any updates will be announced on social media and made available at cityofgp.com/CanadaDay. All Canada Day activities at Muskoseepi Park, excluding the beer gardens, are free to attend and participate in. City transit is also free on July 1 during the hours of 9 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Residents are reminded that The Monster, the world’s biggest inflatable obstacle course, is taking place across June 29, 30 and July 1 at Bonnetts Energy Centre for more long weekend fun. View full details at bonnettsenergycentre.com.
