Construction activities for the Downtown Rehabilitation project are underway. The Contractor, Wapiti Gravel Suppliers has commenced asphalt and concrete removal activates and they plan on commencing underground pipe (sanitary and storm) removal shortly. In the upcoming weeks the Contractor plans on installing new sanitary, storm and water infrastructure on 101 Street south of 99 Avenue. As the work progresses motorists and pedestrians can expect to encounter some delays in the area of 99 Avenue and 101 Street.
They will be highlighting downtown businesses in various ways throughout the project and are looking for businesses that are interested in participating in promotional activities. Please contact ourdowntown@cityofgp.com to get involved.

Suicide Prevention Resource Centre - THE CHAIR EXTRAORDINAIRE FUNDRAISER will be held October 1, 2016 at the Jackpot Bar and Grill. It is their most important fundraiser. Accessorized chairs are auctioned off to raise, much needed, funds for suicide prevention programming. Included: a Chinese Buffet, table wine, and live entertainment. Besides the auctioning of the accessorized chairs, a silent auction, a raffle which includes a $4,000 diamond ring from Curries, an all-expenses trip, for two, to a Blue Jays game in Toronto, a mountain top picnic via helicopter in Lake Louise, including one night in a deluxe lake-view room at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, and more.
